Technology Services Group®

TAG's Technology Services Group provides a range of targeted, 24x7 support services that keep our customers’ infrastructure operations running smoothly and securely. Our Data Center services span the spectrum from physical/environmental system monitoring to information system management, data backups and storage, and peripheral device maintenance. Examples of our services include

  • Environmental system monitoring/maintenance including HVAC, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) devices, and battery systems.

  • Site-level visitor control services, including maintenance of entry/departure logs, suspicious activity/event reporting, security office Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring, and maintenance of visitor databases.

  • Physical security/access control services for personnel and equipment, including maintenance/monitoring of physical supply inventory, management/distribution of access control mechanisms (e.g., passwords, security tokens/badges), and development/management of access control procedures, instructions and forms.

  • 24x7 computer operation and monitoring for scientific and administrative super computers such as IBM S/390 & IBM eServers, (PC 292, 160, 32) Linux Clusters and IBM RISC systems.

  • Network equipment monitoring for routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and mail/Internet content servers; Network/Security management services using Tivoli, Tripwire, and ISS SiteProtector.

  • Monitoring/maintenance of peripheral devices, including IBM 3584 Linear Tape Option (LTO) Library, Spectra Logic Super Advanced Intelligent Tape (SAIT) Library, and HP Laser Printers/Plotters.

  • Tape operator, mid-tier tape operator, and librarian duties encompassing computer console operations; magnetic tape library management; micro, mid-tier, and super computer tape backup maintenance, policies/procedures for handling/using tapes, on-site/off-site tape storage, and (as required) media/data destruction.

  • Site/Facitilities Management policies and planning, including contingency and disaster recovery planning, Corrective Action Reporting (CAR), quality assurance planning and implementation, and performance inspection/surveillance.


As a supplement to our Data Center capabilities, TAG’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) subsidiary, Amerinex, provides bandwidth, rack, and network hosting services for over 25 unique commercial customer environments of varying scope and size – including TAG’s corporate intranet. With redundant facilities located at the TAG corporate Headquarters in Dulles, VA, the Equinix datacenter in Ashburn, VA, and the Switch & Data datacenter in Tyson’s Corner, VA, Amerinex offers comprehensive failover capabilities that have maintained over 99.9% service availability to end users and customers for over five straight years. In addition, the Amerinex facility in Ashburn is supported by redundant (i.e., dual) fiber optic channels, which provide bandwidth for 23 parallel T1 and two T3 lines.
