Dulles, Virginia – March 17, 2008

To serve the ever-increasing need for high-performance mobile computing solutions seen in the growing popularity of Ultra Mobile Devices (UMD), Technology Advancement Group® Inc. (TAG®) has released an all-new rugged Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) that provides the performance of a dedicated lightweight (4 lbs) computer in a streamlined, portable form factor.

TAG’s TC-100, also known as the “TAG Commander,” sets the stage for mobile computers with state-of-the-art technology, specifically hardened to resist the harshest environments of modern tactical field applications.

“The TAG Commander is fully customizable allowing our customers the flexibility to field a device that meets their mission requirements” commented, Marcus DeSouza, COO. He added “Other Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) UMPC devices are intrinsically unable to support specific configuration requirements at this level.”

The TAG Commander is available with advanced features such as GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, satellite connectivity, a sunlight readable display, a touch screen, and customizable button configurations. Different applications may require varying button placements and accessories – each of which can be built into the design depending on the expected application of the device. This flexibility is invaluable to end-users in a mobile environment who need the latest technology.

Its ergonomic, handheld design is completely ruggedized and designed to meet MIL-STDs for shock, vibration, dust, humidity, and immersion. Dual hot-swappable batteries allow for more continuous time in the field without interrupting active programs. End users are also able to connect the TAG Commander to wireless networks and devices without the need for bulky cables or wires.

In addition to the TAG Commander’s many standard features, a number of additional accessories are available to accompany various application needs. For example, TAG offers a lightweight battery pack, a spare battery pack, vehicle mount with or without integrated keyboard, vehicle/air charger, thigh holster, and much more.
